Treatment of chemical burn of the eye with VX735Ag

The patient had an eye injury while working in a chemical laboratory. There was emission of reaction mass and several drops (several tenths gram) of potassium alkali melt in thiodiglycol (which is close to dimethylsulfoxide by its physiological activity), temperature – approx. 200°С.

The damaged eye was flushed with cold running water during 40 minutes. Then 2% solution of boric acid was dropped in the eye. Externally on both eyelids and under the eyes malavtilin was applied.

10 minutes later SCENAR VX735Ag was used on the damaged eye for 1 hour, in SC mode, bearable action energy level. Then worked on the healthy eye during 15 minutes, in CS mode, at minimal action energy level.

Then worked on 6 points – first during 10 seconds on each, to take the readings. Then about 1 minute on each until the readings are balanced on symmetrical points. Total – about 7 or 8 minutes on 6 points.

The patient was pain free, but felt like he had something foreign in the eye (this feeling reduced gradually) for 2 days.

2 hours later the damaged eye was treated with activated water – anolit (“dead” water) – about 1 ml, after 10 minutes – treated with katolit (“alive” water) – about 1 ml. The healthy eye was only treated with katolit. The patient also took 150 ml of katolit 3-4 times a day during 5 days.

After 30 minutes malavtilin was applied on eyelids and after 10 minutes SCENAR 735Ag was placed: on the damaged eye – for one hour in SC mode, at bearable action energy level, on the healthy eye – for 15 minutes in CS mode, at minimal action energy level.

Then worked on 6 points – first during 10 seconds on each, to take the readings. Then about 1 minute on each, until the readings are balanced on symmetrical points. Total – about 7 or 8 minutes on 6 points.

4.5 hours after the damage and the above treatments the patient went to emergency ward of Gemgoltz Research Institute of Eye Diseases. The doctor diagnosed first-degree chemical burn, damage to sclera and cornea, but he did not believe that the damage was caused by the melt of alkali, he said it had rather been a diluted solution!!! The doctor prescribed using 2% solution of boric acid, some gels, etc. (none of the administered stuff was used by the patient!). He also recommended going to the ophthalmologist at the local clinic.

Further treatment included washing the damaged eye with anolit one more time. Then both eyes were only washed with katolit. We also applied malavtilin and used SCENAR 2-3 times a day during 4 days. The patient noticed unpleasant sensations in his throat, so in addition to the above described SCENAR treatments direct projection of pain in the throat area was also treated. For that he used CS mode at comfortable action energy level for 30 minutes (2 sessions) and Pirogov’s ring (5 times at a session) – 1 day.

When the patient came to the local ophthalmologist on the fourth day after the injury, the doctor could nearly find nothing wrong with the eye!!!

I should mention that usually such injuries result in loss of vision or serious impairment of vision.
