Back sports injury

Male, 51 yrs.
Back injury (lumbar region). The injury was sustained while playing soccer.

The patient spent 1.5 months in hospital where he was administered medication therapy and therapy on a stretching bed. After the course of treatment his condition remained unsatisfactory: the patient was in pain, his right leg reduced in size and was thinner than the left leg, hyposensitivity. Massage and manual therapy did not change the situation.

SCENAR-therapy was conducted with SCENAR model 035-4 Pro. At the preliminary stage the following areas were treated: collar-neck area, 3 pathways. Main work was done on the lumbar region in the area of most pain. After pain was eliminated, the work was done on the areas of reddening.

First 10 sessions were conducted every day. After the pain was eliminated (at the 10th session), next sessions were conducted 3 times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the patient exercised in the gym to strengthen his "muscle corset" in the lumbar region. Two weeks later SCENAR therapy was finished and the patient continued to work in the gym. After a month of training in the gym, he wished to add exercises for general physical development for other muscles as well. Two months later the patient did squats with weight equal to the weight of his own body. Size and sensitivity of the leg restored.

Now 10 years have passed and the former patient continues active way of living, plays soccer and volleyball, takes part in city championships, and likes jogging in the morning. Now he can cope with minor injuries and consequences of his sedentary work himself, in the gym and asks for advice when necessary.
